Carrot Cake Bars– Primal, Paleo, Clean Eating and Kid friendly
Alternative to Easter eggs
I don't like chocolate, I never have. I was that kid who had Easter eggs left months after Easter was over. The prospect of chocolate floating around isn't that appealing, so I wanted to make something that was Easter themed that I actually want to eat.
Strawberry Balsamic Sauce – Primal, Paleo and Clean Eating
Last of the berries
I have a few cups of strawberries in the freezer and the last of the berries off the garden. To make the most of the final berries I am making this strawberry balsamic sauce to capture the taste of summer.
Cookie Protein Bar – Primal, Paleo, Clean Eating and Kid friendly
Something sweet and easy
We all love cookies; they are sweet, soft and tasty. They usually are also loaded with sugar which isn't so good. These cookie protein bars are soft, sweet and delicious with a healthy helping of protein. They are great as a post workout snack.
I realised recently that I don't post a lot of sweet treats so thought I would give your something sweet this week. This is my grain-free vanilla cupcakes with sugar-free frosting. The cake is soft and airy which gives these cupcakes a real cake texture and taste without any sugar or grains.
Ice cream does not need to equal lots of sugar and added flavours. Our ice cream is all natural with just one ingredient, blueberries. This ice cream is easy to whip up when it is hot outside and an added bonus, it is an excellent alternative for the kids.
If you are looking for a sweet treat that doesn't leave you feeling guilty this could be the treat for you. The combination of chocolate, seeds and berries is perfect. You can make these up and keep them in the fridge (if they last that long) so you have a treat on hand when you need one.
Apple Chips - Primal, Paleo, Kid Friendly and Clean Eating
Apple chips are a cheap and easy snack. They make a great alternative to potato chips; they are sweet, crisp and slightly addictive. If you are looking for a way to get fruit into little people, they are a brilliant option.
Vanilla Cake - Primal, Paleo, Kid Friendly and Clean Eating
Cake is one of the things that I find it is tough to create a grain and sugar-free version that compares to the traditional recipe and results. After many years of experimentation, I think I have finally discovered a way to make a no grain, no sugar cake that is light, fluffy and spongy;
Baked Macaroons - Primal, Paleo, Kid Friendly and Clean Eating
The traditional macaroon is made with nuts, sugar, eggs and food colourings. The coconut macaroon is usually found in the UK, but even they have some nuts in them. This recipe for coconut macaroons is completely nut free but still tastes wonderful.
Primal Shortbread Cookies - Primal, Kid Friendly and Clean Eating
It may just be an English thing but Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas without shortbread. Traditional shortbread is made with sugar and flour which we now don't eat, so the question for a while has been how do we have shortbread now?
Icing is one of those things that sometimes I really do miss having, birthday cake just does not seem right without it. Thankfully (and after much experimentation), I have found a healthy version of icing for my birthday cakes.
Crème Brulee- Primal, Paleo, Kid Friendly and Clean Eating
This is the height of opulence in my book and as such, I tend to crack out crème brulee for special occasions. I always thought that crème brulee were difficult to make but the truth is they are very simple to make but make a big impact on those you serve them to.
