What an amazing weekend.
Sitting in the sunshine enjoying time to relax and unwind a little. I'm working on some interesting tan lines this summer.

There are heaps of spaghetti squash growing which makes me so happy, but the bundle of them I got to bring home made me very happy.

We all love cookies, they are sweet, soft and tasty.
Normally they are also loaded with sugar which isn't so good. These cookie protein bars are soft, sweet and tasty with a healthy helping of protein.

This week's workout is all about getting those bingo wings in shape. May arms have never been strong and have looked soft for a long time. Recently I have started to notice some improvements. I have some definition starting to show. Things that once seemed impossible are not only possible but starting to feel easy. It is a good reminder that improvements take time and consistency, sooner or later the hard work pays off.
Here is my workout
Medicine Ball Chest Pass 1 set, 20 reps
Pushups 5 sets, 5 reps
Dips - Chest Version 3 sets, 8-12 reps
Flat Bench Flyes 3 sets, 8-12 reps
Lying Dumbbell Tricep Extension 3 sets, 8-12 reps
Jogging-Treadmill 1 set, 20 minutes

Peppers (capsicum) are one of my favourite veggies and they are in season right. While they are in season I am eating heaps of them. Enjoying them fresh is one thing but I do love to roast them.

We try to eat with the seasons as much as possible, at the moment we have an abundance of courgettes. There is only is only so much courgette ravioli a girl can make before losing her mind, so I decided to try making a new variation of broccoli tots.
This recipe kills two birds - new veg for the kids to try out and Jaime not having to find a new girlfriend because of ravioli. This recipe is just the same as the original broccoli tots, it is only the preparation of the courgette is the key difference.

This week's throwback Thursday recipe is Guacamole. I will be honest, I am eating guacamole with almost every meal at the moment. I may be adding a healthy dose of jalapeno so that it is too spice for everyone else. I didn’t say I was doing that, I might be doing it. It could be that the jalapenos are extra spicy. It has been a short week here in Auckland which means extra time outside and doing fun things. We had some fun at the skatepark testing out my new action camera. I love to get outside and watch the kids enjoying the great playparks across the region.
Our new camera worked great and provided me with a good laugh.
Apparently, the kids forgot to turn the camera off when they finished playing at the skatepark. When we got home and looked at the footage it was great to see so much of the sky with the odd view up Liam's nose.

Bread is a funny thing. It is one of the very few foods that I know doesn’t agree with me that I still crave regularly. I try my very best to avoid it but some meals just feel incomplete without it.
Burgers are one of those meals.
I love a salad bun but sometime I want a burger bun. I've experimented with different recipes and gluten free, grain free flours but never felt satisfied with the end result.

Though I would share a recommendation with everyone still enjoying the summer.

This has to be my favourite sunscreen ever. No kidding by far the best sunscreen I have used.

We have used the usual suspects for years but have never been happy with them, every year we have to deal with sunburns, pink noses and yellow stains on our clothing. Not to mention the stinging eyes when you get sweaty.
Hand on heart I can say that Earths Kitchen is very different. This is our second summer using it and I sing it's praises to everyone. Since we started using this sunscreen we have not had a single sunburn, no pink noses, no stinging eyes, no irritated skin and not a single yellow stain.

If you are on the lookout for a chemical free sunscreen that works I highly recommend it. They even make one just for kids

What is better than a Hawaiian Pizza? If you ask me it is a Hawaiian Pizza Salad.

Yes it is a real thing, I know it is real because I made it. This salad brings together the classic flavours of ham and pineapple, with a fancy twist, while adding a healthy dose of protein thanks to some tasty garlic pulled pork. The fresh greens, rich mushrooms and crunchy peppers round the salad out nicely.

If you are in the market for a low carb alternative to that Friday night pizza why not give this salad a go.

This week has been flying by but I have managed to keep on track with my workouts. I'm still working around my injured knee which is getting more frustrating as it slowly improves. Fun fact - during this workout I managed to smack myself in the nose with the medicine ball
