It’s time for a roundup of what has been happening in the Easy Clean Eats world over the last few weeks.
After a great start to the year with my clean eating and exercise, we took our first real break in the last year. We took a few days off from work and escaped the city, a few hours on the road and we had a nice overnight camping in Mount Maunganui, we had a great time walking on the beach and enjoying the sunshine.
It was great to have a week off from work but the week ended on a bad note as I got a major smackdown from a viral throat infection.
It's taken an entire week not eating or drinking much and not able to exercise at all, it’s yet another lesson that I need to take it easy and have a real break more often so I don’t get sick when I do take a break.
Thankfully, I'm coming out the other side and getting back on track, here are my successes and failures over the last two weeks
1 - Walking 18km is one day (mostly on the beach)
2 – Making some kick ass Honey chipotle chicken wings (coming soon to the blog)
3 - Peppermint mocha bulletproof coffee
1 - Getting sick
2 - Missing a week of workouts
3 - Regaining 1kg in two weeks
Things I’m loving
I've made a decision to get out of the kitchen more on the weekends and spend more time outside, this has meant spending more time at the beach over the last few weeks. I am loving spending time with my toes in the sand and soaking up the beautiful sunshine.
A great bonus to time at the beach is watching one of our boys master boogie boarding.
