Honey Chipotle Wings
Honey Chipotle Wings - Primal, Paleo, and Clean Eating
To me, there is something very appealing about food you eat with your hand, and I do not just mean the fewer dishes you need to clean up. Sweet and spicy is one of my favourite combinations, and these wings are no exception, the combination of honey and chipotle on these wings is perfect for any occasion.
1kg chicken wings
⅔ cup honey
1/4 cup coconut sugar
4 tsp. chipotle sauce
1tsp. chilli powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup tomato puree
2 tbsp. cider apple vinegar
2/3 cup cold water
3 tbsp. tapioca flour
Whisk together the sauce ingredients in a bowl mix together the honey, coconut sugar, chipotle sauce, chilli, salt, garlic, tomato puree and cider apple.
Whisk in the water and 3tbsp. of tapioca flour into to sauce.
Add half of the sauce to the slow cooker.
Add the chicken wings to the slow cooker and mix the wings in with the sauce, set the slow cooker to low and let the wings cook for 3-4hours.
Remove the wings from the slow cooker and spread them out on a baking tray.
Grill the wings for 5 minutes; brush the wing with the remaining sauce and grill for another 5 minutes.
